The exhibition "al-Lahun and the King's Highway" (13-31 October 2002) was inaugurated by Her Majesty Queen Rania al-Abdullah in the City Hall of Greater Amman on October 13th. It was organised by the Belgian Committee of Excavations in Jordan, in collaboration with the European Union, the Department of Antiquities in Jordan,  the Belgian Embassy in Jordan, the Jordanian Embassy in Belgium, the Municipality of Greater Amman, Royal Jordanian Airlines and the E-Muze Foundation, Belgium.

Several artefacts, plans, reconstruction drawings and over 250 photographs illustrated the archaeological research, comparing ancient and modern lifestyles of the village of al-Lahun in the Wadi Mujib region, from geological periods till now. Multimedia presentations, a videofilm and a comprehensive publication of the site were realised. For the first time a special children's program with educational games was built up in Jordan by the E-Muze Foundation (Belgium). Many visitors, including groups from private and governmental schools came to see the exhibition and discovered new aspects of the richness of their country.
